Hindustan Aeronautics jumped 4% higher at the bourses on Monday following the company&#8217;s second-quarter results where the firm&#8217;s net profit was seen jumping by 22%.



What Happened: The aerospace and defence company&#8217;s <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41963672/hal-q2-net-profit-jumps-22-to-1-510-cr-beats-estimates">net profit for the quarter</a> under review stood at ₹1,510.4 crore, ahead of the street&#8217;s estimates. Revenue from operations came in at ₹5,976.29 crore, a 6% increase&nbsp;year-on-year, below the analysts&#8217; estimates.



CLSA has an &#8220;outperform&#8221; rating on HAL with a target price of ₹4,731. Despite delays in Russian aircraft and helicopter orders, HAL&#8217;s order pipeline for the next decade remains strong at $45 billion (₹3.8 lakh crore), it said. 



The brokerage sees an expected order of large helicopters and Sukhoi aircraft in the second half of FY25, along with visibility on the GE engine deal as the major catalysts in the firm&#8217;s growth.

Jefferies has a &#8220;buy&#8221; rating on HAL with a target price of ₹5,500. In Q2 FY25, the company saw a 7% YoY increase in EBITDA, with margins improving by 37 basis points to 27.5%. 



The higher-margin service income likely played a key role in the performance, especially given delays in aircraft deliveries due to engine supply issues with its partnership with GE, the brokerage said.



Antique Broking also maintained its &#8220;buy&#8221; rating for the stock with a target price of ₹5,902. Antique Broking expressed confidence in HAL&#8217;s long-term business prospects and execution capabilities. The brokerage estimates that HAL is on track to achieve a 15% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue over FY24–27E.



With the potential for multi-year double-digit earnings growth and a robust return ratio profile exceeding 20%, analysts at Anrique believe the stock offers an attractive valuation at current levels.



Price Action: Shares of HAL rose 2.62% to trade at ₹4,194.05 on Monday morning. The stock jumped 4% to hit an intraday high of ₹4,248.

NBCC&#8216;s share price has remained under pressure ever since the company posted its earnings for the quarter ended September. However, analysts at Nuvama think the stock can bounce back.



The NBCC Analyst: Analysts at Nuvama upgraded the stock&#8217;s rating to &#8220;buy&#8221; from &#8220;hold&#8221; with a price target of ₹133. The target indicates an around 47% upside from the stock&#8217;s last closing price of ₹89.90.



The NBCC Thesis: Improved order intake, execution, and margins, coupled with progress in real estate monetization, are seen as positives by the analysts. The brokerage added that following the recent correction in the stock, it is upgrading the PSU&#8217;s rating.



Nuvama highlighted that NBCC&#8217;s revenue for the September quarter grew 19% year-on-year (YoY) and 15% sequentially to around ₹2,460 crore. However, the brokerage noted that the EBITDA margin declined by around 60 basis points YoY and 20 basis points quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) to 4.1%, <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41932498/nbcc-q2-net-profit-jumps-53-to-122-cr">which weighed on the adjusted profit after tax (PAT). </a>



The company has guided for a revenue of ₹13,000 crore in FY25, up from ₹10,400 crore in FY24. The construction major expects EBITDA margins to improve to 5.5–6% (from 4.9% in FY24) and PAT margins to rise to 6–7%. The brokerage added that NBCC is also targeting a 20% YoY revenue growth in FY26.

The brokerage also mentioned the company&#8217;s strong order. NBCC&#8217;s consolidated o<a href="https://in.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/11/42023014/nbcc-sees-orderbook-expand-to-84-400-cr-in-q2">rder book grew QoQ to ₹84,400 crore in the September quarter, compared to ₹81,000 crore in the previous quarter. </a>



Of this, around ₹22,000 crore worth of projects are currently under execution. The company awarded contracts worth ₹3,600 during Q2FY25 and ₹7,300 crore in the first half of FY25, with plans to award ₹14,000 crore–15,000 crore worth of projects for the entire fiscal year, the brokerage noted.



While the company&#8217;s book-to-bill ratio stands at a robust 7.6x, around 45% of its order book comprises self-revenue-generating projects, where the pace of real estate monetization will play a critical role, according to Nuvama.



The brokerage noted that NBCC has fully sold its World Trade Center project and plans a bulk sale for the Sarojini Nagar project once the occupancy certificate is received. In the Amrapali project, the company has sold inventory worth ₹3,650 billion so far.



Price Action: NBCC&#8217;s share price was up 0.22% to trade at ₹89.80 on Monday morning.

Hero Motocorp shares were on the rise on Monday after the company posted its results on Thursday last week that beat street estimates.



What Happened: The two-wheeler maker <a href="https://in.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/11/41977061/hero-motocorp-q2-net-profit-jumps-14-to-1-203-54-cr-beats-estimates">posted a net profit of ₹1,203.54 crore</a>, making a 14% year-on-year increase. The company that manufactures Harley Davidson in India reported an 11% jump in revenue in operations to ₹10,463 crore in the quarter, beating analyst estimates. 



The company sold 15.20 lakh units in the quarter compared to 14.16 lakh units in the previous year. Niranjan Gupta, CEO of Hero Motocorp said that the company will release three models Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R and Karizma XMR 250 in the Entry and Deluxe segment in the next 6 months.



Brokerage Views: Jefferies gave a "buy" call with a target price of ₹5,500. The brokerage said that Q2 results were in line. EBITDA per vehicle rose to a new high in the quarter, said the research firm. According to Jefferies, the Indian two-wheeler market is poised for strong double-digit growth in the next 3 years.

However, the research firm noted that the company's decline in the 2-wheeler market share is a concern and adverse demand profile shifts are a concern. Any success of the company in the premium and EV segment will be positive. 



Nomura also kept a "buy" call with a target price of ₹5,805. The brokerage said that rural improvement is a key catalyst. Despite the company posting healthy earnings growth and attractive valuation, the margins have room to improve, the research firm said. The brokerage also expects the two-wheeler market to grow by 10% over FY25-26 due to rebalancing of growth and positive monsoons.&nbsp;



The brokerage firm noted that there are early signs of rural pick up which will support sales as the rural mix makes up 54% of the sales. The research firm said that the company's margins will improve as EV drag reduces due to new models and PLI benefits. 



Price Action: Shares of Hero Motocorp rose 3.41% to ₹4,760.90 on Monday morning.

On Tuesday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) delivered a sharp critique of the Republican budget reconciliation bill, denouncing it as a &#8220;death sentence&#8221; for millions of Americans.



What Happened: Sanders accused President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans of pushing through what he called a "disastrous" budget bill that offers a $235 billion estate tax break to the wealthiest 0.2% of Americans—those inheriting over $30 million—while leaving 99.8% of citizens with no benefit.

The bill would also slash $715 billion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care/25/05/45345409/trumps-big-beautiful-bill-banks-on-huge-medicaid-cuts-as-its-cost-saving-centerpiece-see-who-risks-losing-coverage-under-the-gop-proposal">taking health insurance away from over 13.7 million people</a>, he said. Programs in education, nutrition, and Planned Parenthood would also face huge cuts, he noted, "at a time when we already spend more on the military than the next nine nations combined and when everyone knows there is massive waste and fraud in the Pentagon, this bill increases defense spending by $150 billion."

Why It Matters: Sanders warned the bill "does exactly the opposite of what should be done," particularly during a time of historic wealth inequality. He pointed to data from the RAND Corporation demonstrating that the top 1% own more wealth than the bottom 93% and that $80 trillion has been redistributed from the bottom 90% to the top 1% over the past 50 years. "This legislation makes the rich and wealthy campaign contributors even richer while making life harder and more stressful for the working families of our country," he said. Sanders criticized the bill for forcing low-income Americans to pay unaffordable co-pays and gutting Medicaid funding, which he said would result in the death of "many thousands more Americans."



In his closing remarks, Sanders called the bill a stark example of a corrupt political system serving billionaire donors at the expense of everyday Americans. "At a time when children and seniors go hungry here in the wealthiest country on Earth," he said, "our job should be to make sure that all Americans have the nutrition they need to lead healthy lives—not increase the level of hunger."



Sanders is among many politicians who are opposed to the provisions of the bill. Rep. Nexxen International Analysts Boost Their Forecasts After Upbeat Q1 Results

Foot Locker, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FL#NYSE">FL</a>) shares rocketed premarket on Thursday after the company disclosed a definitive deal to be acquired by Dick&#8217;s Sporting Goods Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DKS#NYSE">DKS</a>), which values Foot Locker&#8217;s equity at around $2.4 billion and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/05/n45431136/dicks-sporting-goods-to-acquire-foot-locker-to-create-a-global-leader-in-the-sports-retail-industr" rel="noreferrer noopener">its enterprise at about $2.5 billion</a>.



DICK&#8217;S plans to fund the acquisition using a combination of its existing cash reserves and newly incurred debt.



As per the deal, Foot Locker shareholders will have the option to receive either $24.00 in cash or 0.1168 shares of DICK&#8217;S common stock for each share of Foot Locker common stock they own.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2025, upon shareholder approval and other customary closing conditions.



Synergy &amp; Benefits: DICK&#8217;S anticipates that this acquisition to increase its EPS starting in the first full fiscal year after the deal closes, excluding transaction and other one-time costs related to achieving synergies.



The company also expects to realize between $100 million and $125 million in cost synergies in the medium term through efficiencies in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/guidance" rel="noreferrer noopener">procurement and direct sourcing</a>.

Dick&#39;s Sporting Goods To Acquire Foot Locker At 66% Premium

April retail sales data showed that the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/tariffs">round of tariffs</a> announced by President Donald Trump on &#8220;Liberation Day&#8221; started to produce their effects by reducing household consumption.



However, while households reined in spending, inflationary pressures at the producer level unexpectedly contracted in April, notching the biggest decline since April 2020 and highlighting the disinflationary impact of tariffs on input costs across industries.



U.S. retail sales grew only by 0.1% in April from the previous month, a report from the Census Bureau showed Thursday. The outcome marks a sharp reversal from March's upwardly revised 1.7% gain, yet slightly topped economist expectations of no change.



A relevant drag came from motor vehicles and parts which contracted by 0.1%. In March, auto-related sales jumped 5.5% as consumers rushed to buy before tariffs took effect. 



Stripping out autos, retail sales also rose 0.1%, a slowdown from March's 0.8% increase and below the 0.3% consensus. 



When excluding both gasoline and autos, the figure improves slightly to a 0.2% rise, though it still marks a deceleration from March's 1.1% growth.



On an annual basis, April retail sales were up 5.2% from a year earlier, unchanged from March.



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Tariffs Slash Producer Prices</h3>



The Producer Price Index fell 0.5% month over month, marking the sharpest decline since April 2020. This was a steep reversal from March's flat reading and missed economists&#8217; expectations for a 0.2% increase.



On a year-over-year basis, producer inflation cooled to 2.4%, down from 3.1% in March and undercutting forecasts of 2.5%.



&#8220;The April decline in the index for final demand is attributable to prices for final demand services, which decreased 0.7%,&#8221; the Bureau of Labor Statistics said.



More than 40% of April's drop in the final demand services index stemmed from a 6.1% decline in margins for machinery and vehicle wholesaling. Additional declines were recorded in portfolio management, food and alcohol wholesaling, system software publishing, traveler accommodations, and airline passenger services.



Core producer prices, which exclude food and energy, dropped 0.4% on the month, wiping out the previous month's 0.4% gain and coming in well below the 0.3% estimate.

On the earnings front, Goldman Sachs Group posted better-than-expected earnings for its first quarter on April 14. Goldman Sachs reported quarterly earnings of $14.12 per share, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $12.35 per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $15.06 billion, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $14.81 billion.

Stephen Weiss, chief investment officer and managing partner of Short Hills Capital Partners, said Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) reported a &#8220;phenomenal&#8221; quarter, and the stock is still going higher.



On April 17, Taiwan Semiconductor reported better-than-expected first-quarter financial results and issued a strong second-quarter revenue outlook.
