Naval Ravikant, co-founder, chairman and former CEO of AngelList said he had no idea why his episode on the Joe Rogan podcast went so viral.

During Ravikant’s appearance on the BeerBiceps podcast, Ranveer Allahbadia pointed out that his appearance in the Joe Rogan podcast changed the lives of many men, including himself. Ravikant conceded he doesn't know why that's the case.

"I feel like I just said the same things that was kind of obvious and maybe don't be so easily influenced. Think for yourself, decide for yourself." Ravikant said.

Ravikant stresses the importance of doing your own research and acquiring knowledge. "There is a great motto from the Royal Society which was the society of scientists in Britain during the Enlightenment era. The motto is ‘Nullius in verba' which means "take nobody's word for it", he added.

He also said that even if his parents didn't immigrate to the United States, he would have gone as he wanted to be among silicon valley. "I don't want to downplay geography at all. I think where you live is the single most important decision that you make. I like to think that even if my parents had not immigrated to the US, I would have probably done at an earlier age, because I was ambitious." Naval said.

He pointed out that being at right places can help you drive change quickly. "At any given time in the world's history, there is usually one or two places that really matter in terms of moving the world forward. There was a time when it was Athens in ancient Greece, then it was Florence in Italy, then London in the United Kingdom and during the time when I was coming into my formative years, it was the Silicon Valley and I knew that." Ravikant said.

Naval recalled the first time he used an Apple Macintosh computer in the computer room in his high school and how he felt in love with it and had to get closer to Apple. He said the first thing he did when he got in Silicon Valley was take a taxi from the Airport to go to Apple's office and wandered around there.

The 49-year-old former CEO said that if a person of high agency and highly motivated they will end up where they wanted to go.
