Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has announced the receipt of additional orders worth more than ₹500 crores.

What Happened: The announcement was made by BEL on Wednesday, October 7, 2024. The company revealed in its press release that these orders have been received since its last disclosure on September 11, 2024.

The major orders secured by BEL include EMI shelters, Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for Integrated Air Command and Control system nodes, upgrades/spares for gun systems, spares for radars, and communication systems.

With these new orders, the total accumulation of BEL’s orders in the current financial year has now reached ₹7,689 crores.

Earlier in the month, BEL inked a deal with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to collaborate on indigenising and developing infrastructure for manufacturing space-grade travelling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) in India. This caused a seesaw effect on the company’s shares in early trade.

On October 3, 2024, BEL and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) announced the formation of a new joint venture, BEL IAI AeroSystems Private. This new entity will serve as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for providing product support to the Medium Range Surface Air Missile (MRSAM) systems of India's Defence Forces.
