Tata Motors' JLR Sees U.K. Sales Jump 5% In June, Shares Upbeat

In June, Tata MotorsJaguar Land Rover (JLR) clocked a 5% year-on-year increase in U.K. sales to 6,421 units, compared with 6,099 units in the same month last year.

What Happened: This growth follows the 29% year-on-year jump the company reported in May sales. The luxury car maker had sold around 6,093 units in May 2024. In April 2024, the company sold 5,627 units.

Last month, Jaguar sales stood at 1,175 units while Land Rover sold 5,246 cars. In May, the company sold around 4,730 Land Rover cars, while Jaguar sales came in at 1,363 vehicles.

Back home, Tata Motors’ total sales for June 2024 were 75,604 units, a 7.4% decline from the 81,673 units sold in June 2023. The company’s domestic sales for June 2024 totalled 74,147 units, an 8% decrease from the 80,383 vehicles sold in the same month last year.

Total commercial vehicle sales reached 31,980 units, a 7% drop from 34,414 units in June 2023. Passenger vehicle sales stood at 43,624 units, reflecting an 8% decline from the 47,359 units sold in June 2023. Electric vehicle sales saw a massive 34% year-on-year drop to 4,657 units.

Price Action: Tata Motors’ share price was up 1.67% to trade at ₹991.95 in the late hours of trading on Thursday.
