Wipro Limited, a leading global tech services and consulting firm, has announced a strategic partnership with NVIDIA. The collaboration is designed to fast-track the implementation of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare companies.

What Happened: The announcement came on Wednesday as Wipro revealed their plans to join forces with NVIDIA to enhance AI-driven strategies, services, and products in healthcare companies. By leveraging NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, Wipro aims to boost AI production across its existing portfolio of healthcare solutions.

"We are delighted to team with NVIDIA to develop next-generation, scalable AI solutions to help our healthcare clients tap into the power of generative AI. This collaboration will allow us to deliver AI-enabled innovation for the healthcare industry at scale," said Nagendra Bandaru, president and managing partner at Wipro Enterprise Futuring.

The collaboration will utilize the NVIDIA AI platform, including NVIDIA AI Foundation Models, for generative, speech, and translation AI applications. Integration with Wipro’s Enterprise Generative AI (WeGA) framework will enable the co-development and deployment of custom models for speech and translation AI.

Why It Matters: NVIDIA has been actively involved in collaborations with Indian corporate heavyweights. In September, the U.S. chip giant partnered with Reliance Industries and Tata Group to build foundational large language models and high-performance AI computing environments respectively. It also inked a deal with Infosys last September, where the firm aimed to bring generative AI applications and solutions to enterprises.

Earlier this month, NVIDIA further collaborated with L&T Technology Services Limited to revolutionize medical devices through the development of a software-defined architecture.
