India’s leading motorcycle manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has declared a new price for its iconic Karizma XMR model, set to come into effect from October 1, 2023.

What Happened: A press statement issued on September 25, 2023, by Hero MotoCorp disclosed that the Karizma XMR will carry a price tag of ₹1,79,900 onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi) starting from the first day of October, 2023.

The current booking period, during which customers can avail of the bike at the introductory price of ₹1,72,900, will terminate on September 30, 2023. Bookings can be made at Hero MotoCorp dealerships nationwide or via their online portal.

Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Business Officer (India Business Unit), Hero MotoCorp, expressed, “The new Karizma XMR has already stirred up considerable excitement among our customers. We have already initiated production for the new Karizma and will commence the deliveries shortly.”

The bike offers a 6-speed transmission, Slip and Assist Clutch, and Dual Channel ABS, along with an adjustable windshield, Intelligent Illumination Headlamp, and Turn-By-Turn navigation.

Why It Matters: The price revision of the Karizma XMR is significant as it comes on the heels of its recent relaunch. In a strategic move to strengthen its stance in the premium motorcycle segment, Hero MotoCorp reintroduced the iconic Karizma XMR on August 29, 2023, with advanced features and best-in-class performance.

This motorcycle, the most powerful in its class, boasts the highest torque, and is powered by a 210cc liquid-cooled dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) engine, among other advanced features. The new pricing strategy is likely to impact the brand’s premium segment’s market dynamics and customer response.
