Elon Musk recently posted a photo of Tesla’s new humanoid robot in a “namaste” pose on X, leading to Indian users calling for the company to come to India.

What Happened: Top electric carmaker Tesla posted a video of its artificial intelligence-powered robot called Optimus. “Its neural network is trained fully end-to-end: video in, controls out,” the company said in the tweet.

The video shows the robot performing various tasks such as sorting and unsporting differently coloured blocks and recognising its limbs visually. The robot is also shown performing yoga poses and adopting a “namaste” pose.

Tesla Chief Musk reposted a screenshot of the image of the robot performing the “namaste”, sending Indian X users into a frenzy.

Several users commented on the use of the “namaste”, elucidating its use in the context of Indian culture. Others even welcomed Tesla to build in India.
