Tickets for the ICC World Cup 2023 cricket match between India and Pakistan are reported to be selling for as high as ₹56 lakh in the secondary market. This has sparked widespread criticism on social media.
According to a report from Livemint, the high prices were discovered on Viagogo, a ticket-selling platform, where one ticket was found for a whopping ₹57.62 lakhs.

As a result, social media users have started questioning the authenticity of BookMyShow, the official ticketing partner for the World Cup 2023. They described the prices as “ridiculous” and demanded transparency regarding the number of tickets sold.
Despite the controversy, demand remains high for other India matches at the World Cup 2023. Tickets for India’s matches against Australia, England, and South Africa are also selling for high prices, ranging from ₹2.35 lakh to ₹2.85 lakh.
