Nokia is set to enhance Vodafone Idea’s 4G network by installing 3,300 sites by March 2025.

What Happened: Nokia has been tasked with expanding Vodafone Idea’s 4G network, ET Telecom reported. The Finnish telecom behemoth will establish 3,300 sites to augment the network’s reach and capacity by March 2025.

Additionally, Nokia will upgrade over 42,000 technology sites and 25,000 spectrum expansions in Vodafone Idea’s network to expand bandwidth and data capacity.

Nokia said it has completed 100% of spectrum bandwidth expansion, 40% of technology addition and 15% of new sites have been completed.

The Finnish company will also deploy ultra lean sites for Vodafone Idea for addressing hot spot coverage requirements and increase user experience in locations per market demand.

In September, Vodafone Idea secured a ₹29,880 crore deal with Nokia, Ericsson and Samsung to supply network equipment over the next three years.

Vodafone Idea will also announce its Q2 results on Wednesday. The company is expected to post a ₹11,198 crore revenue and net loss at ₹6,591 crore, aided by recent tariff hikes.
