Vodafone Idea is gearing up to introduce its 5G services in India by March 2025, with Delhi and Mumbai being the first cities to host the high-speed network from the firm.
What Happened: Jagbir Singh, chief technology officer, of Vodafone Idea, said the company is preparing to roll out its 5G services in Delhi and Mumbai as a starting point, with a nationwide launch anticipated to follow. The company is aiming to rollout 75,000 5G sites in the next three years.

The company is planning to utilise ₹30,000 crore deal with Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung to supply the 4G and 5G equipment.
Vodafone Idea is looking to arrest the subscriber loss to Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio as they started their 5G services in 2022.
The telecom had given a capex guidance of ₹55,000 crore for the next three years to expand their 4G coverage from 103 crore to 120 crore and launch their 5G services.
