As per data from NSE, Siddhartha Yog bought over 10.95 lakh shares of Trent in a block deal on Tuesday. The seller was Dodona Holdings.

What Happened: As per data from the exchanges, Yog has been buying up shares in retail since the start of August. He first purchased 24,500 shares of the Tata Group company on August 7 in another block deal. Since then, he has been regularly buying Trent’s shares.

Earlier in September, Yog, who is the founding partner of Xander Group, an investment firm focused on emerging markets, managing assets exceeding $3 billion (₹25,130 crore), bought over 20 lakh shares of the fashion giant at different prices. The seller on all occasions has been Dodona Holdings.

The biggest purchase was made on Tuesday, the deal was executed at an average price of ₹7,330 per share. The total cost of the deal came in at over ₹800 crore.

In total, the investor has bought over 43.13 lakh shares of the company with a total investment of over ₹3,055 crore. His 43.13 lakh shares are currently worth around ₹3,200 crore.

Apart from Trent, Yog bought a stake in another Tata Group company, the Indian Hotels Company. He bought 3.21 lakh shares of the company back in July 2024.

Yog holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Delhi. He later pursued a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard Business School.

Price Action: Trent’s share price was up 0.13% to trade at ₹7,413.10 as the markets opened on Wednesday.
