The YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India, which it uses to stream its court proceedings, is no longer accessible after it was seemingly hacked earlier in the day.

What Happened: The top court’s YouTube channel showed videos promoting XRP, a cryptocurrency developed by US-based tech firm Ripple Labs. The previous videos of court proceedings wasn’t visible on the page.

A live stream titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds to the SEC’s $2 Billion Fine! XRP Price Prediction” was last airing on the compromised channel along with several other crypto videos. However, the page has now been taken down.

Following the link to the channel returns a message that says, “This page isn’t available. Sorry about that. Try searching for something else.” A search for the channel on the YouTube yielded no result.

A senior Supreme Court official said that while he is uncertain about the specifics, the website “appears to have been compromised,” Indian Express reported.

The issue was reportedly detected on Friday morning, and the Supreme Court’s IT team has since engaged with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to address the problem.

The court had been using the channel to live-stream hearings for cases before constitutional benches and for matters of public interest, which includes the recent rape-murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical Hospital and College.
