Tata Motors were the top gainer with a 4.38% rise to ₹1121.65.

Following closely is Bajaj Finserv which saw a 2.46% rise. The stock is currently priced at ₹1755.65, up from its previous close of ₹1713.5.

The third spot is claimed by Bharat Petroleum Corporation, which witnessed a 2.38% increase. The stock is trading at ₹356.45, compared to its last close at ₹348.15.

Next in line is Bajaj Finance, with a 2.37% rise. The stock is currently trading at ₹7063.55, up from its last close of ₹6900.0.

Rounding off the top five gainers is Britannia Industries, with a 2.24% increase. The stock is currently priced at ₹5831.40, up from its last close of ₹5703.35.

Grasim Industries was the top loser with a 1.45% decline in the session.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research, at Geojit Financial Services said, “Indian equities began steadily and breached a record high. Volatility disturbed the trend in the afternoon due to Reliance Ltd AGM expectations, but the broad market carried the rally to a new high by the end of the day with rapid improvement in sentiment. The recent uptick in Indian IT and FMCG stocks points to a potential soft landing for the US economy and an improvement in domestic rural consumption.”
