Carl Pei, the CEO of tech firm Nothing, has expressed his bullish stance on India, revealing plans to apply for an Aadhaar Card.

What Happened: On Friday, Pei took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce his optimism about India’s potential and his intention to apply for an Aadhaar Card — which seems to be in the lighter vein — a unique identification document in India.

Earlier this year, Pei made waves on social media by using the term “Bhai”, a term of endearment often used in India, in response to a query about the need for a brand ambassador for Nothing’s upcoming Phone 2a launch. This interaction went viral.

In July, the British consumer technology brand announced that its latest budget smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, is being manufactured in India.

Nothing highlighted that the CMF Phone 1’s customisable design is tailored to meet the unique preferences and needs of the Indian market. By producing the CMF Phone 1 locally, Nothing aims to deliver high-quality products while supporting the initiative to boost local manufacturing.
