Nothing CEO Carl Pei Takes Social Media By Storm With 1 Word — 'Bhai'

Nothing recently revealed Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as the brand ambassador for its upcoming Phone 2a launch in March. The post about the reveal generated a lot of intrigue among Indian consumers, with one X user asking “Why is a brand ambassador needed?”

His question was answered by the smartphone giant’s CEO Carl Pei. He replied, “We want to sell more phones bhai,”. The reply has now gone viral. “Bhai” is a term of endearment that is often used in India. However, Pei did not only stop at the reply but also changed his Twitter display name to Carl Bhai.

Now the company has also announced a contest. In a post on X, the company has encouraged users to join the bandwagon by adding “Bhai” to their usernames and 10 lucky winners will get a Phone 2a.

While the company has not revealed many details about the device, the internet is filled with speculation, rumours and leaked details. The device is rumoured to sport a dual-camera system, with a vertically aligned 50-megapixel rear camera, marking a departure from the horizontal layout seen in its predecessor. Additionally, users can anticipate a 32-megapixel selfie camera with Glyph controls, promising a user-friendly and customizable experience.

On the display front, the Phone 2a is expected to feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen sourced from Visionix and BOE, ensuring smooth visuals and immersive viewing. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, promising seamless performance and ample storage capacity. While the battery capacity is speculated to range between 4,500mAh and 4,800mAh, further details regarding display specifications await confirmation.
