CDSL 1:1 Bonus Issue: Shareholders Grant Approval At AGM

Central Depository Services Limited (CDSL) informed the exchange that its shareholders have approved the bonus issue proposal.

What Happened: In an exchange filing, the company said that the proposal was passed by the shareholders during the 26th annual general meeting held on Saturday, August 17. A total of 4.75 crore votes were cast, out of which 97.43% were in favour of the proposal. 12.51 lakh votes were cast against the proposal.

The company will issue bonus shares to its shareholders in a 1:1 ratio, meaning for every share held, investors will receive an additional share. The record date for this bonus issue is Saturday, August 24. Shareholders must own the shares on this date to be eligible for the bonus issue.

This is the first time the company is issuing bonus shares to its shareholders. 

During the meeting, the final and special dividends were also approved. The proposal was passed by a 99.99% vote. Only 678 were cast against the proposal. CDSL had announced a final dividend of ₹19 and a special dividend of ₹3.
