In July, Quant Mutual Fund picked up stakes in various companies such as ITC, NBCC (India), MRF and Larsen and Toubro and exited HUDCO, NHPC and Railtel.
What Happened: According to IDBI Capital's Mutual Fund Holding Report for July 2024,
The Sandeep Tandon-led fund has picked up stakes in ITC, Piramal Enterprises, MRF, Lloyds Metals and Energy, Larsen and Toubro, Bayer CropScience, Bata India, Divi's Laboratories, NBCC (India) and Manappuram Finance.
ITC was the biggest pick with 4.65% of the fund's holding with a ₹3,673 crore stake. This has propelled ITC to the fourth largest holding of Quant Mutual fund.
Quant also exited HUDCO, TCS, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Escorts Kubota, Shipping Corporation of India, NHPC, HEG, Railtel Corporation of India, Graphite India and NMDC.

Among the exits, the fund had the largest holding in HUDCO with a ₹1,305.29 crore stake which makes up 1.6% of its holdings.
Quant's highest stakes overall were in Reliance Industries, LIC and Jio Financial Services. The fund has 10.1% of its holding in Reliance, 5% in LIC and 4.8% in Jio Financial Services.
In July, Quant Small Cap Fund, the AMC's flagship fund had a return of 4.07%, underperforming the benchmark of the BSE 250 Small Cap Index which gave a return of 5.08%.
In June, reports claimed that SEBI raided Quant Mutual Fund suspected front running activities. Quant confirmed that it received enquiries from SEBI seeking certain clarifications.
