Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has completely transitioned Croma’s commerce operations to a cloud model.
What Happened: TCS has used its AI-driven, unified composable platform, TCS OmniStore, to facilitate in-store mobile checkout across all Croma outlets, it said in a press filing on Monday. This shift has led to a surge in sales and customer footfall for Croma, while also reducing the checkout time for shoppers.
Shibashish Roy, Deputy CEO of Croma, expressed, "Crafting a seamless, delightful omnichannel journey is an imperative for us, and OmniStore is key to enabling it. We have enjoyed our unique and truly integrated partnership with TCS to co-develop and co-innovate multiple aspects of the customer experience.”

The innovative cloud-based checkout model eliminates the requirement for traditional specialised onsite hardware, enabling Croma to quicken the billing process by four times, it said. It has also allowed Croma to optimise 83% of bill desk space, thereby creating more space for selling.
Krishnan Ramanujam, President, Consumer Business Group at TCS, stated, "Croma is way ahead of the curve in terms of its multi-channel strategy, and its continuous investments in technology proves to be a competitive differentiator. TCS will serve as a technology and knowledge partner to Croma, to jointly fashion a unique and futuristic commerce journey with a best-in-class customer experience at every touch point.”
Price Action: Shares of TCS were down 0.14% at ₹4,222.95 on Monday afternoon.
