Tata Motors‘ Punch, the best-seller in June, slipped to fourth place with 16,121 units sold, in July, a 34% year-on-year growth. Tata’s Nexon also saw sales go up around 13% to 13,902 units compared to July 2023.
What Happened: Hyundai‘s Creta topped the sales chart with 17,350 units sold, registering a 23% YoY growth. The new Creta also reached the 1 lakh sales milestone since its launch in January 2024.
In June 2024, Tata Motors’ Punch was the best-selling car in India, selling 18,238 units, a 65% increase from the same month the previous year. However, the sales dipped slightly from the 18,949 units sold in May 2024. Nexon had bagged the 10th spot in June.

Maruti Suzuki’s Swift and Wagon R followed closely, with sales of 16,854 and 16,121 units respectively. However, Swift experienced a 6% YoY sales decline, while Wagon R saw a 25% growth. Maruti dominated the list yet again bagging six out of the top 10 places.
Other notable performers include Mahindra’s Scorpio with 12,237 units sold, and Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga and Brezza, selling 15,701 and 14,676 units respectively.
