Trading Disruptions Reported In Brokerage Apps Angel One, 5Paisa, IIFL Securities

Users of brokerage apps Angel One, 5Paisa and IIFL Securities faced disruptions while executing market orders on Friday.

What Happened: Glitches in the apps of Angel One, 5Paisa, and IIFL Securities led to difficulties in placing market orders, as per a Moneycontrol report.

IIFL Securities apprised its clients that the outage on cybersecurity platform Crowdstrike was the root cause of the problem. “There is a global issue with Crowdstrike Antivirus protection software which we have installed on our servers and endpoints which has caused systems and servers reboot issue and blue dump,” the company reportedly communicated to its clients.

5Paisa Capital also confirmed the issue on their platform, stating, “You might face rate refresh issues and order placement issue in our Mobile App and Web. Our technical team is working to resolve the same.”

The glitches coincided with a reversal in Indian shares after they hit record highs at the open on Friday, with broad-based profit booking outweighing the gains driven by heavyweight Infosys‘ results.

Indian discount brokerages have been plagued with technical glitches. Recently, Zerodha users were not able to execute the orders they had placed in the app and they were unable to withdraw the capital from the account.
