The domestic stock exchanges BSE and NSE will remain closed on Wednesday, July 17, in observance of Muharram. According to the BSE's website, the closure will affect the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing) segment. Trading will resume on July 18.
The remaining market holidays for the year include:
- Independence Day (August 15)
- Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday (October 2)
- Diwali (November 1)
- Gurunanak Jayanti (November 15)
- Christmas (December 25).

Markets On Tuesday: Indian benchmark indices ended higher for the third consecutive session on July 16. At close, the Sensex was up 51.69 points, or 0.06%, at 80,716.55, and the Nifty was up 26.30 points, or 0.11%, at 24,613.
Top Nifty gainers included Coal India, BPCL, HUL, Tata Consumer Products, and Bharti Airtel. The top losers were Shriram Finance, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UltraTech Cement, and Reliance Industries.
