Micro Cap Railway Stock Wins ₹45 Cr Order From Company That Supplies To ISRO

K&R Rail Engineering Limited has bagged a significant work order from The KCP Limited, the company said in a regulatory filing.

What Happened: The work order, valued at ₹45 crore, was issued to K&R Rail Engineering Limited by KCP Limited. The work order entails the construction of railway siding facilities on an EPC/Turnkey basis to facilitate rail connectivity. The scope of work includes loading of cement, unloading of imported coal and gypsum, and loading of clinker as a future provision for The KCP Limited’s Cement Unit-II at Muktyala Village, Jaggayyapet Mandal, NTR District, Andhra Pradesh.

The project is slated to be completed within nine months.

In its March quarter results, K&R Rail reported a net loss of ₹7.78 crore as compared to a net profit of ₹3.22 crore in the previous year. Its revenue saw a 25.81% decline to ₹153.50 crore.

On the other hand, KCP limited in its results for the March quarter reported a 50.81% rise to ₹82.77 crore. Its revenue rose 4.54% to ₹625.03 crore.

KCP Limited has been working with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for more than three decades. It has given flight hardware for rocket vehicles like motor cases, nozzle diverges, and inter-stage structures. In October 2023, KCP Limited supplied the Integrated AirDrop Test (IADT )–Crew Module Structure for Human Space Flight Mission (Gaganyaan).

Price Action: Shares of K&R Rail closed 0.31% up at ₹497.60. KCP Limited closed 2.96% higher at ₹257.70.
