Other notable gainers include Vardhman Textiles and IRCON, which climbed 10.46% and 10.01% respectively. IRCON rose after winning a ₹750 crore order from RVNL. Raymond also had a good run, with a 9.85% increase in its stock price. Raymond gained after the firm announced it was going to demerge its realty business.
On the flip side, HDFC Bank was the biggest loser of the day, with a 4.58% drop in its stock price. The bank’s shares closed at ₹1648.10, down from its last close at ₹1727.15. HDFC Bank’s shares fell after it reported softer business numbers in the first quarter.
