Industrialist Ratan Tata took to Instagram late on Wednesday with an urgent plea to find a blood donor for a dog in critical condition at his Small Animal Hospital in Mumbai.

What Happened: Tata, known for his business acumen and philanthropy, said a seven-month-old pup was battling suspected tick fever and severe anaemia. He called on the people of Mumbai for immediate help in finding a dog blood donor.

The Small Animal Hospital, run by Tata Trusts, is a veterinary centre dedicated to cats and dogs in Mumbai.

“I would really really appreciate your help,” Tata wrote, underscoring the gravity of the situation. He detailed the eligibility criteria for donor dogs and included an image of the suffering animal.

Massive Response: The post, shared just in the late hours of June 26, has received over 5.5 lakh likes and thousands of comments offering help and advice.

“A legend who doesn't post for anything, posts for blood for a dog not even his own. If this isn't a golden lesson in humility what is?” one user posted in admiration for the businessman’s care for canines.

Others offered help in finding contacts for a dog blood donor and said they would be willing to help however they could.

This isn’t the first time Tata has used social media to aid a dog in distress. Previously, he sought help to reunite a lost dog with its owners, sharing details and requesting public assistance.
