The younger Ambani sibling, Anil Ambani, made a grand entrance at his nephew’s pre-wedding bash, cruising in his newly acquired electric vehicle (EV) made by a Chinese car maker backed by Warren Buffett.
What Happened: Anil Ambani, the younger brother of India’s wealthiest man, Mukesh Ambani, recently made headlines for his choice of transportation. As reported by DNA India, the business tycoon arrived at his nephew’s pre-wedding bash on a cruise ship in the newly launched BYD Seal EV.
Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway currently holds a 7.98% stake in BYD, after having pared down its stake from 20.49% earlier.
The BYD Seal EV, which was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, comes with a hefty price tag of over ₹41 lakh.
The car is equipped with a 61.4kWh or 82.5kWh battery pack, based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0. The former offers a range of 550 km, while the latter can cover 700 km on a single charge.
The more powerful battery system generates 312 horsepower and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds.
The car also boasts a 15.6-inch rotating infotainment display in the center console and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver’s benefit.

The BYD Seal EV is known for its advanced tech and comes with a dual-motor model with an AWD system, allowing it to generate 530 horsepower and sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
Why It Matters: The Ambani family is known for its opulent lifestyle and extravagant celebrations. The upcoming wedding of Anil Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant is expected to be no different.
In February, many high-profile celebrities from around the world, including Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, joined Ambani’s pre-wedding festivities in Jamnagar, Gujarat. At the lavish celebration, Zuckerberg’s spouse Priscilla Chan even lost her pendant. According to a report, the search for the lost pendant lasted over three hours, with guests and the Zuckerberg duo turning over every stone at the venue.
Pop sensation Rihanna, who performed at Ambani's pre-wedding celebration, reportedly charged nearly $8-$9 million (₹66 to ₹74 crore) for her performance.
