Tata Play DTH and Tata Play Binge customers can now avail Amazon Prime benefits, including Prime Video, thanks to a new collaboration between Tata Play and Amazon Prime.

What Happened: Tata Play and Amazon Prime have joined forces to offer Prime Benefits to viewers across TV and OTT platforms. The partnership introduces the Prime Lite with Tata Play plan, which allows Tata Play DTH subscribers to choose from multiple packs starting from ₹199 per month.

Subscribers of Tata Play Binge can also enjoy Prime Lite with Tata Play along with 30+ other popular apps at various price points. The plan includes benefits such as free unlimited same-day delivery on over a million products, next-day delivery on over four million products, early access to Prime deals, and a 5% cashback on Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card while shopping on Amazon.

Moreover, DTH customers can subscribe to the annual subscription of Amazon Prime through Tata Play DTH at a limited-time introductory offer, gaining access to Prime Video, free shipping, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, Prime Gaming, and more.

Why It Matters: This collaboration is a strategic move by Tata Play, which has been expanding its content offerings and partnerships. In 2023, Tata Play Binge marked its debut collaboration with Apple TV+ in India, bringing Apple TV+'s exclusive series and films to its content roster. This move was seen as an effort to bring more international content to its platform.

Last month, Tata Sons increased its stake in Tata Play to 70%, buying out Temasek’s 10% stake for nearly ₹835 crore. This acquisition reflected a valuation dip from $3 billion pre-pandemic to $1 billion, indicating Tata Group’s commitment to its sole consumer-facing media venture.
