In a bid to combat the scorching summer heat, the Kanpur Traffic Police in Uttar Pradesh will soon be sporting air-conditioned helmets.

What Happened: The Kanpur Traffic Police have taken a step towards ensuring the comfort of their personnel with the introduction of special AC helmets, as per an ANI report. These helmets, designed to provide cooling in temperatures as high as 40 to 42 degrees Celsius, are currently being tested at six major city intersections.

DCP Traffic Aarti Singh has stated that the initial trials have yielded positive results, and there are plans to distribute these helmets to traffic policemen stationed at other city intersections.

Traffic police personnel who have used these helmets on a trial basis have reported a noticeable improvement in their work efficiency and comfort. This initiative is aimed at preventing instances of policemen fainting due to the heat while managing traffic.
