Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Hits The Indian Market Early, Ahead Of Official Launch

Ahead of its official release date on January 31, Samsung’s Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are already available for purchase on Amazon, marking an early start for the eagerly anticipated smartphones. The standard S24 model, priced at ₹79,999, even boasts same-day delivery, while the higher-end S24+ and S24 Ultra models are set to reach customers by January 29.

What to know? Samsung introduced these new flagships earlier than expected, aiming to kickstart 2024 with a bang. The highlight of the launch was the emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, with Samsung showcasing how the phones can use AI to edit pictures and search for items. The S24 Ultra, the largest and most advanced of the trio, features a Snapdragon Series 8 Gen 3 chip optimized for Galaxy, while the S24 and S24+ mix Qualcomm’s SoCs with Samsung’s Exynos chipset.

Especially the S24 Ultra, these devices focus on “on-demand” AI, performing AI tasks directly on the device instead of over the cloud. New AI features include the ability to circle objects in photos for Google searches and sophisticated photo editing, like removing reflections or repositioning subjects within images.

Big on AI: With consumers growing less excited about incremental hardware upgrades, Samsung, along with other smartphone makers, is betting big on AI to reinvigorate interest in smartphones. This approach includes live transcription features, such as real-time translation and conversation transcription, marking a new era in smartphone technology focused on enhancing user experience through AI innovation.

Samsung has also been mindful of ethical concerns with AI, implementing watermarking and metadata logs for AI-edited photos to address issues of privacy and copyright infringement. This strategic move signals Samsung’s commitment to responsible AI usage and positions it as a frontrunner in this new phase of smartphone evolution.
