What Happened: On Tuesday, Tendulkar took to Twitter, expressing his unease over the rise in fake videos. He urged his followers to report such videos and ads, emphasizing the need for social media platforms to swiftly respond to such complaints.

He was responding to a deepfake video of him promoting an app. He denied being part of the video and urged social media platforms to be alert and responsive in tackling such videos. A voice resembling Sachin Tendulkar’s praises a money-making app in the deepfake video.
His tweet comes in the wake of a recent controversy surrounding a deepfake video featuring popular actors which had sparked outrage among celebrities and ministers alike.
Tech giant Google has also tightened its reins on deepfakes, developing a policy to guide creators on the responsible use of AI-generated content. As per the new policy, creators are required to disclose any alterations to reality and label electoral advertisements created with GenAI.
