Coal India Emerges As The Top Gainer For The Second Straight Session, Jumps 8%

Monday’s trading session saw a mixed bag of performance on the NIFTY 50 index, with Coal India leading the charge among top gainers and SBI Life Insurance experiencing the steepest fall.

Coal India dominated the day with an impressive 8.02% surge, closing at ₹349.35. This was up from its last close at ₹323.40. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors followed suit with a 2.96% increase to end the trading day at ₹3,645.40, up from its previous close of ₹3,540.75.

Hindalco Industries also witnessed a positive day, with its stock price appreciating by 1.29% to close at ₹487.50, compared to its last close of ₹481.30. NTPC and Mahindra & Mahindra also saw positive momentum, with gains of 1.22% and 1.06% respectively, closing the day at ₹245.70 and ₹1,540.25.

On the flip side, SBI Life Insurance emerged as the biggest loser, with its stock price slipping by 2% to ₹1,328.35, down from its last close of ₹1,355.40. Bajaj Finance was not far behind, witnessing a dip of 1.13% to end the day at ₹7,360.85.

Apollo Hospitals also felt the heat, with its stock price dipping by 1.10% to close at ₹5,220.65. The other underperformers of the day were HDFC Life Insurance and Grasim Industries, experiencing marginal declines of 0.91% and 0.73% respectively, closing the day at ₹621.05 and ₹1,928.85.
