Friday’s trading session witnessed a mixed bag of winners and losers on the NIFTY 500 index. The top performers were JK Lakshmi Cement and Zomato while Godfrey Philips India took a plunge.

JK Lakshmi Cement topped the chart with a 10.48% surge in its stock price, closing at ₹744.85 from its last close of ₹674.20. This significant leap marks the company as the best performer of the day.

Following closely was Zomato, the online food delivery giant, with its stock price shooting up by 8.32% to ₹116.50 from ₹107.55, making it the second-best performer of the day.

Other notable gainers included Safari Industries India, whose stock price rose by 6.59% to ₹4,316.65, and Amber Enterprises India which witnessed a 6.73% increase, ending at ₹3117.05. JM Financial also saw a 7.13% uptick, with the stock price closing at ₹88.70.

On the other end of the spectrum, Godfrey Philips India was the worst performer, with a sharp 8.50% drop to ₹2149.00 from ₹2348.55.

Other stocks that took a hit included Suven Pharmaceuticals, which fell by 3.75% to ₹557.00, and One 360 Industries, with a 3.71% decrease to ₹531.10. Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company and Kopran Ltd. also faced a decrease of 3.66% and 3.05% respectively.
