In a recent report by Croma, a leading electronics store chain, Delhi has clinched the title of India’s iPhone capital, outpacing Mumbai with a whopping 182% more iPhone purchases this year. The capital city witnessed a 47% growth in iPhone sales from 2020 to 2021, which further accelerated to 106% in the subsequent year.
What Happened? Mumbai, though trailing Delhi, wasn’t far behind, registering a tenfold spike in iPhone sales in 2022. Pune, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad followed suit, showcasing impressive growth rates of 198%, 221%, and 132% respectively.
Evolving preferences: Diving deeper, the ‘iPhone Unboxed’ report also highlighted the colour preferences of Indian iPhone aficionados. For the iPhone 13, Starlight White emerged as the top pick, with Midnight Black, Blue, Pink, and Green trailing. However, the iPhone 14 saw a shift in favour, with Blue and Midnight Black leading the pack. The iPhone 12 and 11 had Black and Blue, and Black as the top choices, respectively.
The iPhone 13, 128GB in Starlight White, hold its position as the all-time crowd-favourite at Croma, followed by its counterparts in Midnight Black and Blue.
With Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 15 series launch around the corner, it’ll be intriguing to see how these trends evolve.
