In just three days of hitting the theatres, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film “Jawan” has is all set to rake in ₹200 crore. Over 11 lakh tickets are sold in advance booking for Saturday’s shows.
What Happened: As per various reports, “Jawan” which premiered on a Thursday, pulled in a whopping ₹74.5 crore on its first day alone. The earnings were distributed across different language versions, with the Hindi version accounting for ₹65.5 crore, the Tamil version for ₹5.3 crore, and the Telugu version for ₹3.7 crore.
Despite a decrease in the film’s total collection to ₹53 crore on its second day, the movie is set to bounce back on its third day, with projected earnings of approximately ₹70 crore.
“Jawan” continues to be a robust contender at the box office, despite the fluctuations in its daily earnings. Over 11 lakh tickets have been sold for the third day of “Jawan,” which is set to host over 20,000 shows, as per Sacnilk.
Why It Matters: Prior to the release, the movie was anticipated to be a big hit, with PVR INOX shares gaining over 1% on the day of release. The film was expected to have a blockbuster opening day with earnings reaching ₹60 crore, according to a report by Elara Capital.
Notably, “Jawan” had already shattered records by selling over 5 lakh advance tickets even before its official release. This is the second outing of King Khan this year, the first being the extremely successful “Pathaan”, released earlier this year.
