Sachin Uttarwar, a Product Manager at Amazon, shared an inspiring encounter he had with an auto-rickshaw driver in Bengaluru, India.

What Happened: During a ride from his Amazon Bagmane Office to Koramangala, Uttarwar had a conversation with his auto-rickshaw driver, who revealed his entrepreneurial aspirations. The driver has been driving an auto for 10 years and is now looking to shift his career.

He is developing his own app, similar to Urban Company, starting with one category – painting, as he has good contacts in this field. He has already hired an agency for app development and has a registered company. His app, ‘Dhanyavad Partner’, is currently in its basic version due to some backend issues, and he is facing challenges with the payment gateway, according to Uttarwar’s LinkedIn post. The post, at the time of writing, has over 20,000 reactions and over 500 reposts.

The auto-rickshaw driver, identified as Guddu Prasad, accepts rides near tech parks to engage in such conversations, allowing for meaningful exchanges beyond transportation. This approach has left Uttarwar inspired by Prasad’s entrepreneurial spirit and determination to create something of his own. It’s a testament to the innovative and enterprising mindset that thrives in Bengaluru.
