Media reports suggest that Reliance’s Campa Cola is looking to partner with Chennai-based Kali Aerated Water Works to strengthen its position going up against globals brand Coca-Cola and Pepsico.
What Happened: An Economic Times report stated that Reliance Consumer Products Limited is in talks with Kalimarks to partner up for manufacturing and distributing Campa Cola. Kalimarks which sells the popular cola drink Bovonto is said to have a strong position in South India’s cola market.
With this partnership, Reliance hopes to make use of Kalimarks strong network presence in the south and its manufacturing facilities. The partnership could help Reliance get a jump start in the ‘cola wars‘ against beverages giant Coca-Cola and Pepsico. Kalimarks currently offers several soft drink beverages such as Bovanto, Frutang, and Orange. The family-owned business has been around for over a century now.
An email sent to both RCPL and Kalimarks looking for comments on the said partnership was not answered at the time of publishing.
