Akriti Chopra, co-founder and chief people officer of Zomato, has resigned from her role. The resignation will be effective from September 27, 2024.
What Happened: On Friday evening, Zomato disclosed to the exchanges Akriti Chopra has decided to step down from her position. The disclosure added that she is stepping down to “pursue other interests.”
In the resignation email shared Chopra had sent in her official resignation addressed to the company’s CEO Deepinder Goyal. The email read “As discussed, formally sending in my resignation effective today, September 27, 2024.

Chopra began her journey with Zomato in 2011 as a senior manager of finance and operations, where she was instrumental in establishing and scaling business finance functions across multiple verticals. Over the course of more than a decade.
The resignation of Akriti Chopra comes at a time when Zomato has been witnessing significant growth. Just a week before the announcement, the company’s market capitalisation crossed the ₹2.5 lakh crore mark for the first time, making it India’s 38th biggest firm listed on the NSE.
