Swiggy and a restaurant were fined ₹10,000 by a consumer forum for delivering non-vegetarian food to a customer who had ordered a vegetarian dish.

The consumer, Shruti Baheti claimed that she received non-vegetarian food despite ordering a vegetarian roll on September 22, 2020.

Both Swiggy and Rolls King refuted the allegations. Swiggy contended that they were not accountable for the food provided once the order was placed.

Rolls King asserted that the Vegetarian Special Roll was prepared with vegetarian ingredients. Nevertheless, the commission discovered evidence of chicken pieces in the delivered food.
