Reliance Jio posted its September quarter earnings on Monday evening.
What Happened: The telecom giant’s net profit for the quarter came in at ₹6,539 crore, a 23.4% increase from the ₹5,299 crore posted in the same quarter last year.
Revenue from operations for the quarter under review stood at ₹31,709 crore, an 18% jump from the ₹26,875 crore posted in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) saw a YoY increase of 7.4%, reaching ₹195.1.

EBITDA for the July-September quarter came in at ₹15,931 crore, a 17.8% jump from the ₹13,528 crore posted in the same quarter last year. EBITDA margin stood at 50.2%.
During the quarter, the company raised its prices by around 15% across all its plans. The hike was expected to help the company’s earnings in the quarter. The telecom major said that the full impact of the tariff hike to flow through in the next 2-3 quarters
The company’s customer base stood at 47.88 crore users. This is a decline from the 48.97 crore users the company had at the end of the June quarter.
