Finnish multinational telecommunications company Nokia Inc NOK has expanded its industrial application offerings, introducing six new Industry 4.0 apps for the MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) platform.

The new additions will advance digitalization in the industrial sector by incorporating applications from tech companies including Bosch Rexroth, Ipsotek, Nozomi Networks, Prosys OPC, SmartCone, and SwitchON.

The newly launched applications are aimed at industries struggling to leverage real-time operational technology data for their digital transformation efforts.

These solutions utilize technologies, including AI, machine automation, video analytics, environmental monitoring, and industrial connectivity. The Nokia MXIE platform provides a secure edge computing infrastructure.

Prosys OPC has introduced its OPC UA Forge, a tool designed to collect data from industrial assets and organize it through structured data models. This solution is useful for brownfield deployments and promotes interoperability across different manufacturers and system generations.

Meanwhile, Bosch Rexroth has launched its ctrlX OS for industrial automation, which provides real-time control of machines and facilitates data visualization and secure communication across various use cases.

Other notable applications include SwitchON’s DeepInspect, which uses AI to reduce defects and optimize manufacturing processes, and Ipsotek’s VISuite, which leverages video analytics to enhance worker safety.

Additionally, SmartCone’s HeatGuardian solution provides real-time heat stress monitoring for workers, ensuring workplace safety in hazardous environments. For cybersecurity,

Nozomi Networks offers its Guardian sensors to protect critical infrastructure and assets from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.

Also, Nokia has launched the DAC Marketplace to help industrial enterprises with their digital transformation. The platform offers a range of solutions, including devices, applications, and services from both Nokia and third-party vendors.

Customers and partners can easily find and deploy products for their private wireless infrastructures. The marketplace also enhances visibility for merchants, including seven new partners, and simplifies the process of integrating and offering products.

Price Action: NOK shares traded lower by 0.57% at $5.23 at last check Thursday.
