Apple‘s key supplier, Jabil, is planning to invest $275 million (around ₹2,312 crore) to establish two additional plants in the country.
What Happened: Jabil’s investment is part of its expansion strategy in India, one of the fastest-growing smartphone markets worldwide, reported Economic Times.
The company is reportedly planning to build at least two more manufacturing units in the next three to four years. The company is looking to build one unit in Tamil Nadu, ET reported, citing sources.

Jabil currently has two units in Ranjangaon Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation Zone in Pune. The company manufactures the plastic casing for Apple Airpods.
Jabil started its India operations in 2023. The company had signed a memorandum of understanding with with Tamil Nadu government in September to invest ₹2,000 crore in the state. The company plans to develop an electronic manufacturing facility in Tiruchirappali.
Apple’s suppliers have increasingly entered into the Indian markets in the recent years. Companies such as Tata Electronics, Foxconn, Zhen Ding Technology, TDK Corporation, Sunwoda Electronic Company, Shenzhen YUTO Packaging Technology and Jabil have set up manufacturing plants in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Maharashtra.
