United Parcel Service, Inc. UPS disclosed that its Access Point Network is ready to take on additional packages from July 2 when the shipping service is likely to face disruption following a labor dispute at Canada Post.

United Parcel said its Access Point is in existence in nearly 900 locations in Canada. Therefore, businesses and consumers could pickup, as well as, drop off pre-labeled shipments offering next day delivery. The company added that its rates are comparable to that of Xpresspost in several areas.

The company's President for Canada, Christoph Atz, said, "UPS Access Point locations are situated in convenient places with evening and weekend hours to fit the busy Canadian lifestyle. We are ready for additional volume, and the UPS Access Point Network is robust and prepared to serve Canadians."

UPS claimed that its Access Point Network offered an easy solution during the critical time when routines may be disrupted and that consumers are uncertain about the status of potential orders. The company expects to have over 27,000 UPS Access Point locations around the world by the end of the current year.
