On Wednesday, Nifty 50 fell 1.36% to 23,559.05. During the session, Nifty hit a low of 23,509.60, falling 10.53% from its all time high of 26,277.35 in September 26. Only four stocks gained today while 46 declined.
Britannia Industries was the leading gainer with a stock price of ₹5046.5, up 0.38% from its last close of ₹5027.55.
NTPC follows with a price of ₹381.35, showing a slight increase of 0.28% from ₹380.3. Tata Motors was also up, reaching ₹786.25, a 0.18% rise from ₹784.85. Hindustan Unilever increased by 0.14%, closing at ₹2464.95 from ₹2461.5, making up the last gainer.

Hero MotoCorp faced a significant drop, closing at ₹4519.6, down 4.33% from previous close of ₹4724.2.
Hindalco Industries seen a decrease of 3.84%, with a current price of ₹626.6 from ₹651.65. Tata Steel closed lower at ₹139.17, a 3.47% fall from ₹144.17. Mahindra & Mahindra has decreased by 3.44%, currently at ₹2798.95 from ₹2898.55.
Eicher Motors rounds out the bottom performers, closing at ₹4588.7, down 3.16% from ₹4738.2.
Vinod Nair, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services said, “Relentless selling by FIIs amid weak corporate earnings and a sharp surge in domestic inflation to a 14-month high have further impacted investor sentiment, dashing hopes for a near-term rate cut by the RBI. Mid and small-cap stocks were the worst hit, while the Financials and Auto sectors also showed significant weakness. This trend is mirrored across all emerging markets, as markets are jittery about future US policy actions, including trade-related implications for the world economy, which is reflected in the strengthening US dollar and rising yields.”
