Multinational conglomerate Tata Group is set to launch a new quick commerce offering called Neu Flash.

What Happened: The Tata Group is getting ready to launch Neu Flash, thereby making a re-entry into the quick commerce industry, according to a report by The Economic Times. This development comes at a time when the quick commerce sector in India is witnessing a surge, with multiple players competing for market supremacy.

For grocery, Neu Flash will be powered by BigBasket, which itself is transitioning to a fully quick commerce model. On the other hand, Croma will focus on selling electronics and phones, while Tata Cliq will offer fashion and lifestyle products.

Significant efforts are underway in this area, according to the report. Tata Cliq is anticipated to launch on both Neu Flash and BigBasket, while strategic brand partnerships are also being established, it added.

The Tata Group, a global conglomerate with a varied portfolio, is already a familiar name in the e-commerce industry and will compete with Zomato’s Blinkit, Swiggy’s Instamart and Zepto in the sector. Earlier this year, Flipkart launched “Minutes” foraying into the quick commerce field, while Amazon is also reported to be joining the race soon.

Meanwhile, Reliance JioMart is also reportedly re-evaluating its service after previously discontinuing its 90-minute delivery option under JioMart Express.

While the specifics about Neu Flash are yet to be disclosed, the move indicates Tata Group’s ambition to capitalise on the flourishing quick commerce market in India. The official launch date and other details about the venture are still to be revealed.
