Bnehcmark index Nifty 50 opened below 25,500 on Thursday.

What Happened: Nifty 50 opened at 25,452.85 on Thursday significantly below the previous close of 25,796.90. Indian markets opened in red as concerns of escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Iran fired more than 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday, after Israel’s attacks killed the Hezbollah leadership group in Lebanon.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Eicher Motors, Asian Paints, Tata Motors and Shriram Finance were the top losers in Nifty 50. These stocks fell between 2.9% and 2% in the session.

Steel stocks were among top gainers in Nifty 50 as analysts thinks Chinese stimulus plus strong domestic demand can become tailwinds for the sector. JSW Steel, ONGC, Tata Steel, SBI and Infosys were the top gainers in Nifty with gains between 1.9% and 0.2%.

Price Action: While Nifty opened at 25,450, it has recovered from the lows and was trading at 25,598.75 on Thursday morning.
