On-chain investigator ZachXBT has linked the Hyperliquid whale, a trader who profited $20 million through high-leverage crypto trades, to a British online fraudster.
William Parker, a British individual previously known as Alistair Packover, who was arrested in 2023 for stealing approximately $1 million from two casinos in Finland and faced fraud charges in the UK during the 2010s.
The revelation, shared in a series of posts on X on Thursday, follows ZachXBT's investigation into the trader's wallet activities, which allegedly involved illicit funds from phishing scams and casino exploits.
The findings raise concerns about the use of stolen funds in decentralized finance platforms, spotlighting ongoing challenges in tracking illicit crypto transactions.

ZachXBT traced the Hyperliquid whale's activities to different wallets, which executed significant trades on Hyperliquid and GMX between January and March 2025, including a $10 million profit from a 50x leveraged Ethereum ETH/USD and Bitcoin BTC/USD long position and a $9 million gain from a 40x leveraged BTC short.
Through open-source intelligence, ZachXBT identified a payment from one wallet to an unnamed individual, who provided a UK phone number tied to public records naming William Parker.
"Public record reveals the name William Parker is likely tied to this number," ZachXBT stated, connecting the trader to a known fraudster.
He further detailed Parker's criminal history, noting, "Last year WP was arrested for stealing ~$1M from two casinos in 2023 and was sentenced in Finland."
The investigation also uncovered the source of the trader's funds, with ZachXBT revealing that a linked wallet received $17,100 in January 2025 from phishing victims and funds from four Solana casinos through an input validation exploit.
"It is abundantly clear WP/AP has not learned his lesson over the years after serving time for fraud," ZachXBT concluded.
