Flora Growth Announces New CEO & Board Member

Flora Growth Corp. FLGC confirmed that Luis Merchan opted to step down as both chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

The board appointed JustCBD founder Hussein Rakine as his replacement.

“We are honored to have the former founder of a company we acquired last year join the board and be named as CEO,” Merchan said. “I believe Hussein’s appointment will ensure continued growth within the company.”

Skymint Turmoil: Legal Drama Leads To CEO & Chairman Dismissal

Skymint has parted ways with its CEO and chairman, Jeff Radway, who founded the company in 2018.

Radway, who was on an indefinite leave of absence since April 7, has now officially left the company as it battles through court-ordered receivership.

The Michigan-based company owes more than $127 million to Canadian investment firm Tropics LP, a Calgary-based Sundial Growers Inc's SNDL subsidiary.

Third Division Director Exits New Mexico Cannabis Agency

Linda Trujillo agreed to return to her duties as a head of the department’s Cannabis Control Division.

The move follows Andrew Vallejos’ departure as an acting director for the agency and a director for the Alcoholic Beverage Control Division.

Initially appointed in January 2021 as head of RLD (Regulation and Licensing Department), Trujillo has supported state lawmakers on the cannabis policy reform before moving to work in a cannabis consulting business less than a year later.

Sunsoil Appoints New CEO

Sunsoil, a certified organic hemp farm and top-five CBD brand, has named Bharat Ayyar as its new CEO.

Ayyar succeeds the company’s co-founder Alejandro Bergad, who will remain on Sunsoil’s leadership team as its chief vision officer and board of directors member.

Ayyar first came across Sunsoil in 2018, when he first purchased from the company (then called Green Mountain CBD), only to join the company in 2020.

Indoor Harvest Shakes Up Leadership Team

Hemp-focused Indoor Harvest Corp. INQD tapped Trevor Smith recently to serve as its chief financial and operating officer.

Smith succeeds CFO Leslie Bocskor, who will continue serving as CEO and chairman of the Austin-based company.

Having a decade of operational experience in the cannabinoid industry, Smith has sharpened his skills while working at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a financial analyst at a large-cap U.S. hedge fund.

AgriCann Names New CEO, COO

Canadian cannabis company AgriCann Solutions Corp. named Adam Sancewicz its chief executive officer following his appointment as executive vice president of operations in 2021 and president in 2022.

The Vancouver-based company also tapped Bobby Athwal to oversee its operations, succeeding Timothy Tombe, who opted to resign from his executive position. He has a vast knowledge of the retail cannabis landscape, having launched and listed multiple brands with provincial distributors across Canada.
