The Power Grid Corporation of India has been announced as the successful bidder for a transmission system project in Gujarat.
What Happened: In an exchange filing late on Thursday, the company revealed that it has emerged victorious in the Tariff competitive bidding to establish an Inter-State transmission system for “Augmentation of transformation capacity at Jam Khambhaliya PS (GIS)” on a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis.
The Letter of Intent (LoI) was received by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on September 12. The project entails augmentation of transformation capacity and associated bay extension works at an existing substation in Gujarat.

This development comes on the heels of the Power Grid Corporation’s recent successful bids for other significant projects. In August 2024, the company acquired two power transmission projects in Rajasthan on a BOOT basis.
Earlier in the same month, the corporation had also bagged an inter-state transmission project for the "interconnections of Bhadla-III & Bikaner-III complex" on a BOOT basis.
