Nazara Technologies has teamed up with the Telangana government to inaugurate an artificial intelligence (AI) centre of excellence, primarily focusing on gaming and digital entertainment.

What Happened: Nazara Technologies has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana government. The AI centre will be a hub for research, development, and innovation in gaming, interactive media and gamified learning.

The centre will harness technologies such as AI, virtual reality, augmented reality, blockchain and web 3.0.

This collaboration forms part of Nazara Technologies’ broader strategy to incorporate AI and emerging technologies into its business portfolio. Nitish Mittersain, the founder of the company, has lauded the Telangana government’s proactive approach to promoting industry growth through public-private partnerships, which has paved the way for this initiative.

D Sridhar Babu, Telangana’s minister for information technology and industries, has stated that the alliance with Nazara Technologies is a crucial step towards establishing the state as a global frontrunner in AI-driven digital innovation.

The Nazara AI centre of excellence aims to empower startups, enhance skills and attract advanced technology investments, fostering a diverse and dynamic ecosystem.
