Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders has announced that Sanjeev Singhal, the current director (finance), will continue to serve as the chairman & managing director (CMD) for an additional five months.
What Happened: The company made this announcement on Monday evening. Singhal, who is also the Director (Finance), will retain his additional duties as the CMD until a regular replacement is appointed or until further instructions are given, whichever occurs first.
This decision was taken in line with a letter from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, dated August 22. This action is a continuation of the MoD’s previous letters, the most recent of which was dated 31st July 2024.

This decision marks another extension of Singhal’s tenure as CMD, a role he has held since February 2023. Earlier this month, Singhal’s tenure was previously extended for one month from August 1.
Singhal, who has been associated with the company since 2020, has close to four decades of experience in finance and accounting. He holds a Bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Delhi.
