Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured contracts worth more than ₹11,000 crore from Adani Power and its subsidiary, Mahan Energen, for the development of three Supercritical Thermal Power projects in Kawai, Rajasthan and Mahan, Madhya Pradesh.
What Happened: BHEL announced on Monday that it has signed a contract with Adani Power and Mahan Energen. The contract, which is valued at over ₹11,000 crore excluding GST, involves the supply of equipment and supervision of erection and commissioning for three power projects, each of 2×800 MW rating at Kawai (Phase-II) Rajasthan & Kawai (Phase-III)
Rajasthan and at Mahan (Phase-III), Madhya Pradesh.

The projects are expected to be completed within 49 months for Kawai Phase -II, 52 months for Kawai Phase -III, and 55 months for Mahan Phase -III.
This latest contract wins just months after the company bagged major orders from the Adani Group subsidiary. In June, the company bagged two orders from Adani Power, each worth ₹3,500 crore, for the establishment of a 2×800 megawatt Mirzapur supercritical thermal power plant in Uttar Pradesh and a 1,600-megawatt thermal power plant at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Price Action: BHEL’s share price was up 0.95% to trade at ₹299 as the markets opened on Monday.
